Wayne Munns ADIHaving given a lot of thought about a career change, I had seen a lot of advertisements to become a driving instructor. I rang a lot of different companies but found CIA to be the most professional company that I spoke to. Having now qualified I am very glad that I picked CIA. The training is first class and I found the relaxed manner in which the course was conducted was excellent. I have found the whole team at CIA to be very helpful and also supportive. For anyone who is considering a change of career and is thinking along these lines I would highly recommend CIA.
John Renel ADIHaving spent the majority of my working life in a family business I found myself looking for a new venture when the business was closed. However, I had got used to being my own boss and did not relish the idea of going back into employment. I also wanted something I could get involved with without spending too long developing new skills. I eventually decided that driving instruction would be the right thing for me and can strongly recommend CIA's training course to anyone. Now after ten years on the road as an ADI I now work as part of the instructor training team having gained an ordit accreditation in parts 1, 2 and 3. I like to make my training just as hard work and as much fun as it was then.
Sarah Sadler ADISince learning to drive at 17, I always thought that I would enjoy teaching people to drive, but didn't end up doing it until a couple of years ago. When I contacted CIA about the training I found them to be friendly and the training seemed good value. From the moment I signed up, all the staff were supportive and helped me fit my training around my other commitments. The instructors made the training fun but it was also hard work. I am now a qualified instructor and I really enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and helping them learn such a useful life skill, and when a pupil passes their test I feel a real sense of achievement. It's great!
Keith Buckett ADII have been involved in the driver training industry for 26 years, the last 24 of which have been with CIA. In that time conditions on the road and the need for the skills to deal with the challenges that this brings have changed considerably. I personally enjoy meeting people and working one to one with them to impart the knowledge to learn and develop these skills. My job can be very rewarding as a result of this as well as having its occasional frustrations. Never dull moment! CIA is a progressive company and has always met the need to adapt to changes in road conditions as well as the changing requirements for the driving test. I am proud of my association with them.
Roy Harding ADII made the decision to become a driving instructor in 2004 when I was made redundant from my position as a Training Designer/Instructor. Having made enquiries with various driver training schools, CIA offered everything I was looking for to progress in the field of driving instruction. Training with CIA allowed me to learn at my own pace while still in active employment outside of driving. The CIA driver trainers and all the staff behind the scenes were always available to offer advice and assistance throughout my training period. Now as a qualified ADI I am able to mix driving instruction with my other employment. This means even if I have a bad day at the office I can still look forward to training students in the evening, fully supported by CIA, and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a student's face when they pass their driving test.
Amy Williams ADII passed my driving test first time with CIA in 1999. I worked as a carer for physically disabled adults. I enjoyed the work but it was not the career path I really wanted. I eventually took the plunge and started training with CIA to become an Instructor. The training was hard work but fun and fitted around my job at the time. Since qualifying first time at the age of 24, I now love the freedom of being my own boss and get great job satisfaction when my pupils pass their driving test.
